Project Profile: Paper Source

Paper Source is a premier paperie and gift retailer, opening a new location at a former work-out facility in St. Paul, Minnesota. When their contractor, Tom Hammer Construction, removed the flooring during renovations, they discovered that the floor was uneven, full of holes, and in some areas, 1 1/2″- 2″ below the original floor.

Kinzler Construction Services solved their problem by installing USG Durock™ Brand Quik-Top™ Self-Leveling Underlayment. This flooring sets and dries extremely quickly, minimizing downtime – ideal for commercial and institutional repair and renovation projects. This solution kept the contractor on schedule and everyone was very pleased with how the flooring turned out!

Project Profile: Vertical Endeavors Climbing Facility

Rock climbing is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States and Vertical Endeavors is one of the recognized leaders in the industry, operating some of the largest indoor climbing facilities in the nation. When they started work renovating a warehouse in Bloomington, MN to become a new climbing facility, they called on Kinzler Construction Services to take insulation installation to new heights — literally. The roof of the warehouse where the tallest climbing walls will be are 63 feet in the air! Kinzler crews mobilized quickly.

A team from Kinzler’s Minneapolis branch used an articulating lift to spray closed cell foam insulation on the roof and walls. Closed cell spray foam was a great choice because it acts as a water vapor and air barrier plus has an R-value of 6 per inch. And since the foam will be left exposed, we painted the foam with an intumescent paint.

Project Profile. Lake Movil

Kinzler was hired by Hammerback Remodeling to insulate a custom lake home North of Bemidji, MN. Kinzler insulated the walls with five and a half inches of open-cell spray foam. Kinzler installed a hybrid insulation system in the attic, starting with three inches of open cell spray foam, and covered it with R-40 of blown fiberglass insulation to achieve an R-50 assembly. This created a very efficient and quiet home for our customer.

Project Profile. Gull Lake

Because of the “bonus truss” roof system, the customer needed to install a roof venting system and spray foam in the roof area. This also allowed the customer to place heating and air conditioning ducts in the conditioned attic space.
